15+ Painting Over Lacquer. Is there anything that can be applied over this that would maintain a new paint job?? Question i need to use latex semigloss over a previously lacquered surface.

My kitchen cabinets are lacquered maple they are 10 years old and the finish is cracking and peeling in some place. It shows the steps that charlie rick uses to get excellent results.
